The honest risk warning

Telegram is more tolerant of personal messaging than WhatsApp, but it has its own spam detection. The risk is real, especially with cold contacts who might report your message as spam.

GDPR and consent

If you message EU residents, GDPR applies. You need prior consent or another lawful basis, and recipients must be able to opt out. chat-valet does not track consent on your behalf — you are responsible for that.

Telegram's privacy policy also limits what businesses can do with user data. Make sure your use case fits within those terms.

Two ways to use Telegram together

You can connect both a personal Telegram account (for broadcasts) and a bot (for incoming automation). Replies to your broadcast arrive in the unified inbox alongside messages from WhatsApp and other channels.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just use a Telegram bot?

Telegram bots can only send messages to users who have previously started a conversation with the bot. With a personal account connected through chat-valet, you can message existing contacts without that restriction.

Can Telegram restrict my account for bulk sending?

Yes. Telegram can rate-limit or temporarily ban accounts that send large volumes. We recommend no more than 20–30 messages per day per account. We have no way to guarantee protection from this.

Do I need to comply with GDPR when sending via Telegram?

If you are messaging EU residents, you need a lawful basis — typically explicit consent. Telegram is not end-to-end encrypted by default (only Secret Chats are), so factor that into your data handling assessment.

Can I send to Telegram groups or channels?

The broadcast tool sends individual messages to contacts. Posting to channels or groups you admin is a separate workflow — contact us if you need that.

How do I connect my Telegram account?

You authorize via phone number and a code Telegram sends you — the same flow as Telegram Web. No bot token needed.
